Last night, I neglected everything else in order to focus on a little bit of jewelry making. I'd signed up for a little holiday swap on Ravelry, and the person I'm sending to happened to mention that she liked homemade jewelry, so I dug out my stash of bits and bobs in hopes of finding something usable.
What you have to understand is, I collect broken jewelry. I have three shoeboxes full of snapped chains, mismatched closures, and lonely charms & gems. They just seem to find me somehow--although, I suppose living in a house with three other women (two of them teenagers) must have a little bit to do with it. I take everything apart and upcycle all the individual pieces into new designs. Once I got started I couldn't stop, so I made three necklaces and a bracelet, and now I'm a little overwhelmed with trying to decide which my swap spoilee is going to receive.
Let's narrow it down a little, shall we?
One of those will go to one of you! Take a look:
If you want one, all you need to do is leave a little comment telling me which one you like best, and I'll randomly pick a winner sometime on this coming Monday. Good luck, everyone!
[bonus: If you have me on your blogroll, leave a link so I can go check it out, and that'll count as an extra entry in the drawing!]
These are beautiful! I especially like the second one with the corals-it's just so pretty!!!
ReplyDeleteI like the top bracelet best - blue and silver is one of my fave combos

I love finding bits and shiny things on the ground - I don't often get around to making them into something new, although I always intend to, so this is inspiring.
ReplyDeleteThe elephant is awesome!
They are all so pretty! The elephant is way too cute!
ReplyDeleteSuper tough choice....
ReplyDeleteWell I already have two bracelets that I wear all the time, so it'd have to be a necklace... One of the bottom two. I'm leaning towards the elephant but I'm just not sure!
I'm sure your swappee will love which ever one she gets.
Thank you for holding such an awesome giveaway~

They are all great! I can't decide which I like best... #2? #4? If I'm the winner you can surprise me with one of the necklaces, ok? :)
ReplyDeleteThe bracelet is so pretty. I love the blue heart.

Oh my gosh! As I looked at the pictures, I kept thinking "Oooh I want that one....and that one...and that one...and...(you get the picture)!"
ReplyDeleteBut I think the bracelet my be my favorite because it would go with a lot of my outfits!
I love the bracelet, necklace #1 and the elephant!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty and I'd wear them to death LOL

I LOVE that bracelet! The keys caught me!
ReplyDeleteI love the elephant
ReplyDeleteI'm super jealous of your jewelry making skills. I tried to make some steampunk jewelry after spending too much time on the Ravelry group, but my hands can't seem to twist the tiny loops in the right way. I like that you use recycled findings; I might try to do that next time rather than go to Michael's. I like the elephant too, but tiered necklaces are also back in style.
ReplyDeleteAs a massive elephant fan, I'd definitely have to go with the last necklace with the elephant charm :)
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!! I really like the second one best.. though its hard to choose just one!
ReplyDeleteThey are all very beautiful and I would like them all. However, if I'm only able to pick one, I think I'll pick the first one. I have always wanted to have a charm bracelet. Those keys look very lovely. I love the second one too... and the elephant also.
ReplyDeleteThey are all gorgeous. My favorite is the third one down (with the 2 tiered layers)

I love these! Just my style. :-)
ReplyDeleteWow, I just found your blog though your Ravelry post (Hi, I'm KelpMaiden). Your blog is definitely a keeper - now I just have to get through the old posts:) Personally I love the elephant necklace at the bottom.
ReplyDeleteI like the second one -- just love the colors. They are all fantastic though! Thanks so much for sharing!
